Việt Nam sees high growth of fruit exports to China in first five months (June 16)
According to the Plant Protection Department of Vietnam, the export of many Vietnamese tropical fruits to China in the first five months of this year have grown strongly, including over 468,000 tons of mangoes, 12% higher than the export volume in the whole year of 2020; 348,000 tons of bananas, 87% of the exports in the whole year of 2020; 301,000 tons of jackfruit, 92% of the exports in the whole year of 2020 and 1.1 million tons of dragon fruit, 63% of which.
China is one of the major export markets for Vietnamese agricultural products, and now Vietnam has expanded its export markets to the US, EU, Japan, and South Korea. As China requires more standards of quality for importing agricultural products, the Vietnam government has worked with many localities and stakeholders around the country to meet these requirements and continued to negotiate with China to open more official export for many kinds of Vietnamese agricultural products including sweet potatoes and durian, grapefruit, passion fruit, and coconut in the future.
