Dragon Fruit Info
Bình Thuận dragon fruit expected to get protected status in Japan (October 04)
Bình Thuận, the largest dragon fruit production province in Vietnam with nearly 700,000 tons of dragon fruit harvested from 33,482 hectares annually, is applying the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) certificate in Japan, which identified the agro-products with characteristics linked to their geographical origin. If the application was approved by Japan, the image of Bình Thuận’s dragon fruit would be improved, and better selling price for the farms receiving PGI and more opportunities to other foreign markets would be brought.
